Child Support Enforcement

For obligors who do not make the court-ordered payments, there are a number enforcement measures that can be utilized for collection of support.  We are mandated by law to issue an Income Withholding Order (IWO) to the obligor’s employer.  If the obligation is not paid, other enforcement actions will be taken.

Automatic enforcement actions include:

  • Income Withholding Order (IWO)
  • National Medical Support Notice (NMSN)
  • Intercepts
  • Liens
  • License Suspension (SLMS)
  • Credit Reporting
  • Financial levies

 

Additional legal enforcement actions which may occur are:

 

  • Seek-Work Order/Judgment Debtor’s Exam
  • Civil Contempt
  • Employer Contempt
  • Referrals to other jurisdictions
